Cookies policy

Which cookies oumsai.com uses, why, and how you can control them. It covers our website and the OumsAI back office, not the online stores built on OumsAI: each store has its own cookies policy.

Who we are

OumsAI is operated by BRODV LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17069547, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. A site can then remember things between pages or visits, such as the fact that you are signed in.

The short version

We use only the cookies the site needs to work, plus a few that remember choices you make yourself, such as dark mode.

We use no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no analytics cookies.

No cookie of ours is shared with another company. All our cookies are first-party: set by oumsai.com, for oumsai.com only.

Strictly necessary cookies

The site cannot work without these cookies, so they do not need your consent. Blocking them in your browser stops you from signing in.

__Host-oumsai_session: keeps your visit together from page to page. When you sign in, it keeps you signed in, and it carries the security checks of the forms you send, such as the request form. It lasts 2 hours after your last activity; each page you visit starts the 2 hours again.

XSRF-TOKEN: protects the forms you send against a type of attack called cross-site request forgery. It holds a random security code, not information about you. It lasts 2 hours, renewed with each page you visit.

remember_web_… (the end of the name is a random code): set only if you tick "Remember me" when you sign in. It keeps you signed in on this browser for 30 days.

Preferences you choose

These cookies are set only when you make a choice, and they only remember that choice. Each lasts 1 year.

appearance: remembers whether you chose light mode, dark mode or your device's setting.

rail_state: in the back office, remembers whether you collapsed the side menu. Signed-in users only.

companion_state: in the back office, remembers whether you left the AI assistant panel open. Signed-in users only.

We also keep your light or dark mode choice in your browser's local storage (under the name "appearance"). Local storage is a small storage space similar to a cookie, but it stays on your device and is never sent to us.

We use no cookie for your language. On our website, the language is part of the page's address (for example /fr). The back office is in English.

How our cookies are protected

Every cookie is sent over a secure connection only.

Every cookie belongs to oumsai.com alone: a store on another address, including yourname.oumsai.com, can never read them.

The session cookie cannot be read by scripts on the page.

Analytics

We use no analytics cookies today. If we add them later to understand how the site is used, we will ask for your consent first, with a choice to accept or refuse that is equally easy; we will set nothing until you accept; and we will update this policy before we start.

Payments

oumsai.com sets no payment cookies. Once OumsAI subscriptions start, you will pay and manage your subscription on pages hosted by Stripe (checkout.stripe.com and billing.stripe.com). Those pages belong to Stripe, which sets its own cookies there under its cookie policy (stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal). We load no Stripe scripts on oumsai.com.

Stores built on OumsAI

Each store built on OumsAI lives on its own address (yourname.oumsai.com or the store's own domain) and has its own cookies policy, published by the store.

Stores use their own cookies for things like the basket (kept in the store's session), light or dark mode and, for password-protected stores, the visitor's access (12 hours). They also keep the visitor's cookie-banner choice and favourites in local storage. Their checkout uses Stripe, which sets its own cookies for payment security. Our back-office cookies are never sent to stores.

How to control cookies

You can see and delete cookies in your browser's settings, and block them for any site.

If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or send our forms.

If you delete the preference cookies, the site goes back to its default display.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever we change the cookies we use, and change the date at the top.
